This weekend will be Riley's first overnight trip. We have some work remaining in our half-bathroom that requires Kevin to do some sanding and we don't want Riley around the dust. I haven't been to Marietta since my shower back in September, so we thought it would be the perfect time for Riley and I to take a trip to Grandma and Grandpa's while Kevin stays back and does the work on the bathroom. I know he'll miss her terribly.
Mom is in town to babysit today and tomorrow. She's going to leave her car at our house and she and I will drive South Friday morning with Riley. We'll make one pitstop on the way to visit my friend Katie and her 2-week-old son, Jonathan. We'll return home Sunday night, then Mom will spend Monday with Riley and I and babysit on Tuesday and Wednesday! I can't believe I get to see my mom for another whole week!
My brother is also coming into town this weekend. I haven't seen his girls (the triplets!) since my shower in September, either. This is also the longest I have ever gone without seeing them. They'll be 3 in May and I am sure they've grown so much since I last saw them. This will be their first time meeting Riley and I am very anxious to see how that goes!
I've never gone this long without going "home". Thankfully my parents have been so willing to make the drive up here to visit us - and are now babysitting two days a week - but it will be nice to actually be in their home - the home I grew up in.
Anyhow, I just started jotting down things that I need to pack for Riley. Being that this is my first experience ever having to pack for her, I am sure I'll absolutely overpack, but that's okay - I'd rather have too much than too little!
